The Program
Columba Services Inc. the social services component under the Columba Kavanagh House, Inc. umbrella, provides on-site social services to the residents of three SRO facilities. The Columba Services’ program has been designed to support the residents in their sobriety and in the maintenance of their health so that they may remain in their housing and become integrated into the community.
The social service program in the Columba Kavanagh House, Inc. includes:
- Health and mental health referrals for services
- Case management services
- Budget and financial management
- Assistance with budget and financial management
- Group activities, including art, music and other recreational activities
- Social rehabilitation services with training in the skills of daily living
- Work readiness program including resume preparation, job counseling and educational referrals
- Referrals to drug/alcohol addiction recovery programs
- Recreational activities, including sports trips
Case managers, counseling Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, MICA and Substance Abuse Counselors, Health Coordinator and Community Organizer, staff the program. Many staff members are bi-lingual, English and Spanish
Facilities
Columba Kavanagh House Inc. is the not-for-profit sponsor of three supportive SROs that provide permanent housing for homeless single adults who have a history of substance abuse and/or mental illness, who want and need supportive housing for independent living.
